BADGERLORE-BOOK OF DIRT, 3" CDR, 2007, USA

Though it's more known as the repository for the combined talents of one time Deerhoof member Rob Fisk in conjunction with Six Organs Of Admittance's Ben Chasny, Badgerlore on the occasion of this 100 copy 3" CDR is just Fisk all by himself. Here, he plows a furrow through the same rich topsoil from which also spring his collabs with Chasny, slowly churning up a heavy lidded 24 minute expanse of field recordings, languorously chiming acoustic guitar filigree, tape hiss, ghosted sighs and, eventually, distended tendrils of sooty electric guitar, the resultant debris seemingly having been deposited onto the phyllo-like layers of handmade paper that comprise the lovingly decrepit homemade sleeve.

Seasick Steve - Never Go West (Vid) & Free EP alert!

Oh man I just found out that Seasick Steve released a new album this week! Very excited about this, his album Started Out With Nothing (And Still Got Most Of It Left) was a favorite from last year. His new album is called Man From Another Time and expect it to be just as killer! I don't think I've talked about Seasick Steve on here before, but I know you guys would dig him. Especially you folks who dig Scott H. Biram. Seasick Steve is to Scott H. Biram, what The Flying Burrito Brothers were to The Eagles....that is, a purer form of the same art.
While you are on his site, you can click to recieve a free live EP from earlier this year (just register your email). I just got mine and it's something you are going to want to download!....can't beat the price anyway!
Here is a clip from earlier this week of one of the new songs.....man I love the hell out of this guy!

Pete Townshend (Meher Baba LPs)

Three rare 1970s Lps released by Pete Townshend to celebrate his spiritual mentor, Meher Baba. Originally, only about 2,500 of each of these Lps were pressed on the Universal Spiritual League label (and later re-issued on the Meher Baba Organization label). Out of print for decades, they have since been gathered into a 2CD set available at Townshend's Eel Pie website. Each release features Townshend's demo work from the Lifehouse sessions and his first solo album, Who Came First, along with the music of friends and fellow converts, Ronnie Lane, Ron Geesin, Mike Da Costa, Billy Nichols and others. With the spoken word segments, chants, random sitar backing and instrumental offerings, you'll get your share of psychedelic moments from these LPs - along with some great work from Townshend in his prime. Ancient shares, so thanks to whomever. (@192)

Scorpions - Reading 1979

Scorpions thirty years ago on the 1979 Reading Festival which included also Molly Hatchet, shared on Soundaboard too and many others like Motorhead, Gillan, Whitesnake, Peter Gabriel, Cheap Trick, etc.Curiously they end up headlining the second night on a festival they weren't supposed to be. The Scorps were called to replace Thin Lizzy on the bill and proved on stage to be the right choice, so
